Get Lit With Marquee LLC: Courtney Broussard Presents a Triple Threat

During COVID, Courtney Broussard saw a need on the event scene: with so many drive-thru parties in high demand, there were limited ways to make an aesthetically pleasing display. That’s how she came to create Get Lit With Marquee LLC, a company that provides four-foot marquee letters to fit any occasion requiring a big statement. Though the concept isn’t new, Broussard’s approach to the business is.

Other companies rent out flimsy metal letters that do not stand up straight, use yellow incandescent lights, and do not have the same aesthetic appeal that ours have,” she explains. “We build these in-house, so we always have the letters, numbers, and characters you're looking for. All letters can be used indoors or outdoors. Our letters are truly the highest quality and most aesthetic letters available for rent.”

Get Lit, which has been operational for a year now, caters to both corporate and social events of various scales, allowing customers to purchase the letters and numbers a la carte, even adding intricate balloon displays for an extra pop (pardon the pun).

Broussard herself is a triple-threat, as she also owns Tapped Ba-You mobile bar service and Louisiana Refrigerated Trailers, which has worked with the likes of Raising Cane’s, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, and Tabasco. She may even be the first woman of color in Louisiana to build three businesses from the ground up. Equally impressive is her ability to keep them running optimally during a pandemic.

“Our biggest challenge thus far has been the significantly increased cost of materials and avenues to advertise and market gatherings due to COVID,”' says Broussard, who feels they’ve weathered the storm. “Now we plan to add additional locations in Lake Charles and Baton Rouge, as those two regions are where we receive a large amount of requests.”

Get Lit With Marquee LLC has provided their event services to Mayor Adrian Perkins of Shreveport for his Bayou Classic Port City Fest Kick-Off Party (DJ’d by Mannie Fresh), plus events at LSU and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The demand has only increased since the company’s beginnings last year. Most of that success can be attributed to Broussard and her team’s attention to detail for every customer, regardless of the event’s size.

“We work hard to bring value and build relationships with every brand, company, couple or person we work with,” adds the triple entrepreneur. “In the end, our business is built on our reputation and the word of our customers. Everyone we work with is the heartbeat of our continued success.”
