Face of the World: Sydni Terradot is an Unstoppable Force

Sydni Terradot may only be 20 years old, but she has already led the kind of life that most people only dream of. She was the winner of Miss Teen Earth USA in Las Vegas, a competition amidst 49 other competitors, which brought her to compete in Face of the World in England. She represented the U.S. there, and, incredibly, managed to win the competition there as well! All of her early and highly successful experience on the pageant scene made her realize that she had a talent not just for letting her stellar personality shine through, but for cosmetology as well.

I did my makeup for both of those competitions, and it made me realize how much I enjoy doing stage makeup,” says Sydni. “Soon I will be traveling with my pageant coach, providing hair and makeup at pageants all around the USA.”

Now Sydni is becoming a certified cosmetologist at Cosmetology Training Center, all while working four nights a week as a bartender at Daiquiris Supreme. With both aspects of her career, it is her extroverted nature that makes her so successful.

“I am very outgoing and can literally talk to a wall!” she says. “I believe this is a good quality to have in an industry based around serving people, connecting with them, meeting their needs, and leaving an impression.”

Sydni definitely leaves an impression. She is magnetic and quite tenacious when it comes to pursuing her goals.

“My ultimate goal is to make six figures one day and own my own business,” she says.  “I want to be successful doing what I love and not have to rely on anyone to accumulate this success.”

Being in the service industry has been an incredible experience filled with wild nights, like one that she had recently in New Orleans’ Hell’s Gala, a rave music festival that she’ll never forget. Even so, she notes that she’s “not a party animal.”

“I am only twenty years old, in school full-time, and I work four days a week late nights at a bar,” says Sydni, adding that the service industry can make for a tough life sometimes. Not everyone realizes how big of a role tips play in bartenders’ livelihoods.

“Many people don't realize (or just don't care to realize) that we make $2.13 an hour. My average check is $50 a month from working four days a week. I, along with every other bartender, make tips only. Even if it's just $1 here and there, it adds up and makes our night so much more worth it!”

Despite the tough nights, Sydni is very passionate about what she does, which includes promotional work to promote events. Her advice for others in the industry is to promote yourself and your business on social media as much as possible. “I hope to continue improving my work, building my clientele by marketing myself so that my clients are satisfied. Other than social media, a great way to market yourself is by happy clients who talk about their experience with others!”
